Social and Human Concerns Commission St. Stephen's Outreach is recruiting volunteers to serve as part of the Social and Human Concerns Commission. This body will be responsible for the reflection, planning, and action process that will support and promote all of St. Stephen's Outreach Ministries. The Commission will meet for two hours once each month. Members are asked to commit to a one year term and a regional social ministry training to be held in Portland, OR in April 2014. In Need of a Volunteer to Co-Coordinate Terrific Tuesday Meals Terrific Tuesday Meals (TTM) is a community meal program for all who would like to come. It is held at St. Stephen’s on the even months and at First Evangelical Presbyterian on the odd months. TTM typically serves homeless/jobless individuals and families as well as seniors. It is a community meal where everyone is welcome! A volunteer co-coordinator is needed to work with Jeannine Torlai-Kuolt to help prepare for TTM for 2-4 hours every Tuesday during the even months when St. Stephen's hosts TTM. As the co-coordinator you will be participating in an evangelical ministry that works to serve those in our community. This is a great way to give back to the community and to build up solidarity in Christ. It is amazing how much you will receive by giving of your time and talents to share the love of God! Responsibilities Include: ▪ Gathering and setting up materials for the resource table ▪ Preparing and setting up items for dining tables: prayer request cards, prayer cards, menu cards, word search activity, coloring pages ▪ Directing volunteers in meal prep before TTM ▪ Helping with hospitality: visiting with dinner guests ▪ Helping with the Breath of Aire Concert (TTM's once a year fundraiser) If interested please contact Jeannine Torlai-Kuolt at jmtk@comcast.net January is Poverty Awareness Month!
